The Braehead Clan of the EIHL have announced the signing of Rob Farmer, a standout left winger for the Coventry Blaze the last two years.  The press release from the EIHL is here.  Farmer has put up respectable point totals the last couple of years, and has been a consistent presence on the GB squad since the U18 level.  He is tall, at 6’3″, and apparently very physical.  He should be a good addition to the Clan for this season.

Also today, the Fife Flyers have announced that they have completed their roster for the coming season with the signing of former-WHL player and Calgary Flames 2004 draft pick Kris Hogg.  He spent last season in the CHL – that is the Central Hockey League, not the Canadian – which is of a comparable level to the EIHL if not a slight step below.  It will be interesting to see how he fits in in the EIHL as he was not the most prolific scoring forward in the WHL, nor was he in the CHL.  That said, it sounds like he has a reputation for being a good defensive forward, and as such could be a useful player for Fife if all works out.
