EIHL NEWS: Nottingham Panthers crowned 2013 EIHL Playoff Champions

The Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL defeated the Belfast Giants in the 2013 Playoff Final today to be named Champions for the third consecutive year.  The powerhouse Panthers weren’t handed the title however, with the ever-strong Giants taking them all the way to overtime before the game was decided on a powerplay goal by Nottingham captain Jordan Fox to give them a 3-2 victory and the Cup.  Read the Panthers’ post-match report here.

Robert Lachowicz and Jon Weaver scored the other two goals for the Panthers, with David Clarke, Pat Galivan, Weaver, David Ling, Fox and Eric Werner all tallying assists.

Bobby Sandrock and Kevin Saurette put away the Giants’ goals, with Noah Clarke and Craig Peacock notching the assists.

This caps an incredible year for the Nottingham Panthers, as they completed the treble having also won the Elite League regular season title, and the Challenge Cup (4th consecutive time).
