GREAT BRITAIN RELEGATED AFTER 5th CONSECUTIVE LOSS

Despite scoring the first goal of the game against Korea this morning, and leading on the shot clock, Great Britain once again failed to overcome the odds and fell 4-1.  This is extremely unfortunate for the Brits, who only a couple of short months ago were on the verge of Olympic qualification, but now find themselves relegated to the third tier – 2nd Division – of international ice hockey.  Despite the scorelines, I don’t think the team was ever out of any of the games – they showed up and played well, but were simply beaten by better teams.

Many thanks to Premier Sports and IceHockeyUK for their top notch coverage of the tournament, and we now look forward to the Top Division of the IIHF World Championships.  Stay tuned for the broadcast dates and times.
