Ryan Johansen Agrees to 3-Year Deal With Columbus

As the contract drama between Ryan Johansen and the Columbus Blue Jackets trudged on for the past few weeks, it seemed like it was only going to get worse and that eventually Johansen would not be wearing a Blue Jackets jersey for another season.

However, all that has changed this morning as the 22-year-old center finally agreed to a 3-year, $12 million dollar deal with the organization. The Blue Jackets have stated that he would make $3 million in the 2014-15 and 2014-16 seasons, and $6 million in 2016-17. The contract has an average annual value of $4 million.

Johansen had a breakout season last season with team-highs of 33 goals and 63 points while centering the top line. He recorded six points in six Stanley Cup Playoff games.
